Family-LawFamily mediation is a cost-effective way to sort out practical arrangements through communication rather than confrontation. It enables the couple to make decisions about their future, their financial arrangements and the arrangements for their children.

What are the benefits of family mediation?

Family mediation helps people to take control of their situation and to decide what is best for them and their children. If a couple has reached agreement, then they are far more likely to feel that they have invested in it and motivated to ensure that it works.

How does family mediation work?

After providing you with initial legal advice we can refer you to a trained Mediator. If the case is considered suitable for mediation (and most are) the Mediator will arrange the first session.

If I have a Solicitor and go to mediation does that mean I pay twice?

There is a cost both to legal representation and mediation but, if you use both together then in almost all cases the total cost is reduced, because the case is settled much more quickly. Contested cases cost the most money.
